The patient is a 23 year old male who sought a secondary cosmetic rhinoplasty to correct the aesthetic deficiencies in a previous rhinoplasty. Specifically, the patient objected to the disparity between bridge height and tip projection as visible on profile view. In addition, the patient noted a "disconnected" look between the bridge and the tip as seen on frontal view. Finally, the patient requested augmentation of the chin.
Pre-operative frontal photograph shows a handsome young male with an aesthetic disconnect between the upper (bridge) and lower (tip) complexes of the nose. In addition, the bony bridge is too wide, the tip is bulky and somewhat hanging.
Post-operative frontal photograph following closed rhinoplasty shows markedly improved integration of the bridge and tip sight lines. In addition, the tip is less bulky and more upright in its orientation.
Pre-operative lateral photograph shows excessive prominence of the profile line in the area immediately above the tip. In addition, the nose is long and somewhat down curved and the chin is retruded.
Post-operative lateral photograph, following the surgery that also icluded chin augmentation, shows a straightened profile line and an improved chin projection.
Closed rhinoplasty and chin augmentation produced an integrated profile line, improved balance between the chin and the nose and improved integration of the bridge into the tip on frontal view.
The patient is a 29 year old female who sought improvement in her nasal appearance after an initial rhinoplasty performed 6 years earlier had failed to achieve all of her goals. Specifically, she desired better symmetry of the nose to correct its deviation to the left and further refinement of the tip.
Pre-operative frontal photograph shows a beautiful female with a curving line to the long axis of her nose.
Post-operative frontal photograph following open rhinoplasty demonstrates correction of the nasal deviation.
Pre-operative lateral photograph shows a prominence to the supratip area of the profile line that marred the refinement of the tip.
Post-operative lateral photograph after the open procedure shows a pleasing refinement to the profile line and tip.
Following open rhinoplasty one can see improved nasal symmetry and better definition and refinement of the nasal tip.
The patient is a 34 year old female who sought correction of nasal deformities related to a previous rhinoplasty performed 14 years earlier. Specifically, the patient objected to the large prominence on the profile line immediately above the tip associated with an excessively pinched look to the tip and supratip bridge. She noted that this prominence (known to surgeons as a supratip deformity) did not exist prior to her earlier rhinoplasty. She had very thick skin.
Pre-operative frontal photograph shows an attractive female with a thick-skinned nose with a pinched appearance to the supratip area.
Post-operative frontal photograph following an open rhinoplasty demonstrates smoothing of the excessively pinched appearance to the supratip skin.
Pre-operative lateral photograph demonstrates a prominence just above the tip on the profile line.
Post-operative lateral photograph reveals a marked improvement to the profile line with correction of the supratip prominence.
Open rhinoplasty has yielded marked improvement in the supratip contour of the nose as well as a more natural unpinched appearance to the lower nose on frontal view.
The patient is a 23 year old female who sought secondary rhinoplasty to correct nasal deformities and airway obstruction that were left following two previous cosmetic open rhinoplasties performed in another state.
Pre-operative frontal photograph shows a pretty young female with a collapsed and asymmetrical nasal tip.
Post-operative frontal photograph one year following two-stage open rhinoplasty shows a dramatic improvement to the overall frontal appearance of the nose with proper tip reconstruction using ear cartilage enabling the patient to breathe through her nose.
Pre-operative lateral photograph shows a bridge line with excessive reduction of the bony nose and an improperly placed open rhinoplasty columellar incision.
Post-operative lateral photograph one year following two-stage open rhinoplasty demonstrates a dramatically improved nasal proportion, profile line and tip appearance with septal cartilage reconstructing the bony bridge line.
The patient is a 26 year old female who had in her teenage years undergone a cosmetic rhinoplasty in another city. She felt that the procedure had improved her overall nasal appearance, but had left her nose asymmetrical with deviation to the right. She wished to have her nose made more symmetrical on frontal view. Otherwise, she desired no change to her nose.
Pre-operative frontal photograph shows an attractive young female with an attractive nose that manifests many feminine attributes, but is C-shaped, concave to the left.
Post-operative frontal photograph shows a more symmetrical nasal appearance without compromise of the attractive feminine attributes.
Pre-operative lateral photograph shows a straight profile with which that patient was already satisfied.
Post-operative lateral photograph demonstrates preservation of the pre-operative appearance.
The patient is a 22 year old female who sought cosmetic rhinoplasty to correct the deformities that persisted following an initial rhinoplasty performed 4 years earlier. Specifically, the patient objected to the bulk and overprojection of the nasal tip as well as the prominence of the bridge line just above the tip.
Pre-operative frontal photograph shows a very attractive female whose nasal tip is somewhat bulky.
Post-operative frontal photograph following open rhinoplasty demonstrates pleasing refinement of the tip.
Pre-operative lateral photograph reveals a prominence on the profile line just above the tip that surgeons have named a supratip deformity.
Post-operative lateral photograph shows correction of the supratip prominence into a more pleasing profile line.
Open rhinoplasty has created refinement of the nasal tip, better proportion of the tip projection to the other features and straightening of the nasal profile line.
