Jaw Reconstruction- Lateral

This patient had a malignant tumor of the right side of the jaw which had begun to erode the skin. Curative surgery would require removal of the right side of the jaw and some of the overlying skin.

This is the plan for a flap of skin, muscle, and bone from the patient's hip area.

This is the free flap of bone and skin from the hip now in position along side the jaw.

Here the patient is seen after healing the reconstruction.
